Action Item: Check Data Hub – 8000 Feed Intake

Technical Services - Technical Guide

EID and weight data from the Feed Intake system is collected at the DAQ panel and then transmitted wirelessly to the data hub. The data hub is connected to the DAQ computer via 3.0 USB cable. This USB cable also provides power to the data hub. The data collected is stored locally in a database file on the computer. This data is also uploaded to Vytelle’s servers in Alberta, Canada every morning at 6AM MST, where it is backed up and can be accessed and monitored by Vytelle SENSE’s Technical Service Representatives (TSR) team.

It is imperative that the DAQ computer remain powered on and connected to the internet. Limit use of the DAQ computer to Vytelle use only.

The client is responsible to ensure that the computer is powered on and connected to the internet. As part of the daily system checks users of the Feed Intake system should verify that the DAQ computer is powered on, connected to the internet, and collecting data from the Feed Intake system.

Loss of power and internet to the DAQ computer will likely result in a failed day(s) data.

HOW TO CHECK DATA HUB

  1. Confirm that the radio antenna is connected to the data hub and that the DAQ panel’s radio antenna is connected (in the field).
  2. Confirm that the data hub USB cable is connected to the bottom of the data hub and computer. The green LED light on the bottom of the data hub should be powered on.
  3. If the data hub USB cable is connected to the computer, try connecting the data hub into another USB port of the computer.
