Vytelle, the fastest-growing independent in vitro fertilization (IVF) company and curator of the world’s largest multibreed feed efficiency database, is excited to announce a strategic collaboration with Integrity Communications Solutions (Integrity).
Integrity is a United States veteran-owned leader in engineering innovation that takes pride in its mission to advance humanity by solving intricate problems and challenging others to do the same. This collaboration seeks to integrate Vytelle’s pioneering feed intake weight monitoring solutions, Vytelle SENSE, with Integrity’s advanced remote methane detection technology. Together, they aim to enhance and scale the individual measurement and reporting of enteric methane emissions—a critical factor in assessing the environmental impact of cattle production.
Trevor Gartner, Vice President of Information Systems at Vytelle, stressed the importance of a scalable and accessible methane measurement for sustainable agriculture. He noted, “Integrating methane detection with our Vytelle SENSE technology has the potential to deliver a cost-effective total solution for enhancing sustainability and profitability in cattle breeding and management.”
The collaboration will pursue a modular integration of a proprietary methane sensor derived from work targeting remote monitoring of methane emitted from industrial and agricultural settings. The sensor will leverage much of the same data processing infrastructure to seamlessly pair with the inherent animal tracking capabilities of Vytelle SENSE. Results would provide additional data to producers in the form of daily enteric methane emission phenotypes and associated breeding values derived from Vytelle’s internal genetic evaluation capabilities.
“Measurement of enteric methane emissions is becoming increasingly important for cattle producers that are looking to address sustainability outcomes in their breeding and management strategies,” said Dr. Jason Osterstock, Chief Science Officer at Vytelle. “The ability to integrate methane detection with a trusted feed intake monitoring solution helps ensure that collected data can be analyzed with a holistic view of efficiency, sustainability, and profitability.”
Graeme Towndrow, President of Integrity’s Commercial Operations, remarked, “Partnering with Vytelle seamlessly aligns with our core values, as both companies share a deep commitment to leveraging scientific innovation for global societal progress. This collaboration, dedicated to addressing the critical challenge of methane emission reduction, presents an extraordinary opportunity, and we are genuinely excited to contribute. It’s a privilege to apply our expertise to methane measurement, by developing a novel, accurate, and affordable sensor that can facilitate impactful change in addressing this pressing issue. We firmly believe that our efforts hold the potential to deliver substantial and beneficial reductions in global emissions, while providing reliable data for Vytelle to spearhead agricultural profitability and sustainability.”
Initial work will focus on physical and data technology integration to be followed by field validation. Follow us at www.vytelle.com to stay informed about developments.
