Livestock Alliance, a newly established business in South Africa, focus on the cooperation and alignment of various players in the Beef and Sheep livestock value chain, with the aim of creating additional value for its partners – “Together for Better Results”. The departure focus area of the value chain, is the fattening phase of Beef and Sheep. The newly commissioned “Livestock Alliance Efficiency Centres” (LAEC) consist of two sites, one for Beef and one for Sheep in which we have installed the GrowSafe technology to do feed efficiency tests, by way of Residual Feed Intake (RFI) measurements, for independent Beef and Sheep genetic breeders, but also to create a platform for research and development on new frontier nutritional solutions through our international parent company, De Heus Animal Nutrition.
