Vytelle, a precision livestock company accelerating genetic progress in cattle, has announced Gold Level sponsorship of WagyuEdge’25, as well as funding for a dedicated fellowship program focused on feed efficiency testing for Wagyu producers.
The Vytelle Wagyu Net Feed Intake Fellowship will provide $10,000 in grants to Australian Wagyu Association (AWA) members implementing Vytelle’s SENSE™ feed efficiency technology, offering both per-head rebates and lump sum funding to offset implementation costs.
Vytelle SENSE™, a proprietary low-contact technology that captures individual animal data for feed intake and in-pen weight gain measurements aims to foster better breeding decisions and accelerate genetic progress within the Wagyu sector.
“Feed efficiency is one of the most crucial traits in beef production, and yet it has often been underutilised due to the challenges associated with measuring it,” said Andrew Donoghue, Vytelle’s Regional Manager. “We’re excited to offer this fellowship as a means of breaking down those barriers. It will help producers gather the data needed to improve both their financial bottom line and environmental sustainability.”
WagyuEdge’25, scheduled for April 9-11, 2025, will feature eleven conference sessions covering innovations in Wagyu production, global trade dynamics, and technologies shaping the industry’s future. The event will also include the 2025 Wagyu Branded Beef Competition and the Elite Wagyu Sale.
“The WayuEdge Conference is a natural fit for us,” said Mr Donoghue. “The Wagyu breed is focused on efficiency, and we’re the world leaders in hardware for measuring that trait. The Wagyu community are also heavy users of IVF technology, with many of our Wagyu clients finding great results using our precision reproductive technologies,” he added.
Vytelle will showcase its complete suite of precision breeding technologies at the WagyuEdge‘25 conference. Attendees who visit the Vytelle booth can receive personalised consultations on feed efficiency testing and IVF program implementation, as well as exclusive WagyuEdge’25 promotional offers.
“With breeding season approaching fast, we encourage producers to book their IVF sessions now to secure their preferred dates,” added Mr Donoghue. “Conference attendees who schedule consultations at our booth will receive priority scheduling and special WagyuEdge pricing on both our SENSE™ and IVF services.”
