Rock Creek Embryonics Showcases Advanced IVF Opportunities for Cattle Industry
Producers invited to open house Oct. 16 to learn about new technology
Hermiston, Oregon (Sept. 27, 2019)—Through a partnership with Vytelle, Rock Creek Embryonics of Mitchell, South Dakota, now offers revolutionary in vitro fertilization (IVF) services to Midwest beef and dairy producers. Rock Creek Embryonics is a satellite facility of Vytelle, a leader in advanced reproductive technology that provides an easy way for dairy and beef producers to quickly improve the genetic value of their herds.
Cattle producers and the livestock community are invited to learn more about this technology during an open house on Oct. 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rock Creek Embryonics location at 40281 260th Street in Mitchell.
During the open house, attendees can watch demonstrations of the Vytelle ovum pick-up (OPU) process, ask questions of the Rock Creek Embryonics and Vytelle teams, and have lunch during a short presentation at noon. Producers who are interested in bringing cows or heifers for collection on Oct. 16 should make arrangements with Rock Creek Embryonics by Oct. 9. After collection, eggs will be sent to a Vytelle lab for processing and fertilization.
“We are excited to partner with a growing company like Vytelle,” says Kevin Geppert, owner and operator of Rock Creek Embryonics. “Vytelle offers a simple and cost-effective process, and our clients can enjoy the flexibility of bringing several cows to a collection straight from the pasture without any extra handling.”
